Decent but flaws take away from value, March 9, 2008

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What’s this?)

Waterpik has long been a respected name in the oral care industry, so when I saw this product I jumped at the chance to try it out. Having said that, the Waterpik Sensonic Professional Toothbrush is not all I had hoped for. Let’s start with the positives:

It’s got a wall-mountable base which is GREAT for cutting down clutter around the bathroom sink, and keeps it up and out of the way of small hands looking to “help clean the bathroom.” It also has the prototypical “30 second timer” which has become so popular with sonic brushes as of late. On top of that, it comes with two seperate brush heads (one for him and one for her), along with an interdental brush. Lastly, unlike the Ultreo which has been my brush of choice, it has two seperate speed settings, one low and one high. Overall, it is an attractive set-up and good value for the price.

The negatives:

This brush is VERY harsh on the gums for some reason. I’ve used Ultreo with no problems for a few months now. When I tried this for a week, my gums bled something awful every time, even on the low speed setting. On top of that, the high speed setting just doesn’t work with this brush. You end up splattering spit and toothpaste all over the place, no matter how proper your brushing style is. It’s really unfortunate too, because if it weren’t for these issues, this would be a wonderful 5-star brush.

As it is, this is still priced decently compared to other “sonic” brushes on the market, but if you’re looking for the ultimate brushing experience, I would have to recommend Ultreo over this Waterpik.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What’s this?)

I had never used an electronic brush before, so I can only compare it to manual brushing, something I’ll never do again. The Waterpik does all the work for me and leaves my teeth and gums with that slick, firm feeling I associate with leaving the dentist’s office. Programmed to stop after 30 seconds of brushing, the device also has a built in reminder of how long you should brush each quadrant of your mouth. So, there’s really no excuse for not giving your teeth the attention they need.

The Waterpik comes operates on two vibration levels, low and high. The high setting is a little too close to the dentist’s devices of torture (I have sensitive teeth), so I only use the low setting. It seems to work just fine. I can’t imagine any brushing on high, but I can only imagine that a person’s gums will become very tough and healthy if they can handle the top setting.

There may be a psychological benefit to using this product. I’m pretty sure I focused more on brushing my teeth (and spent more time doing it) with the Waterpik than when I used to brush manually, but I don’t think that will simply be a “trend”. The 30 second timer, the professional design and the financial investment will ensure that I’ll be more motivated to give my teeth their proper attention at each brushing.

Waterpik Sensonic, May 27, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What’s this?)

This is my second Sensonic toothbrush, it took me a lot of searching to find it again. I purchase my first one from K-Mart and it lasted for so long. But K-Mart closed in my hometown and i finally found it at Amazon. I love the feeling of going to the dentist everyday. It is a great product, and i am glad to have another one. The brush I used in between this one and my first one was not up to the quality of Waterpik.

30 Second Smile

Article by Randall Rollins

1. Toothpaste. Modern toothpaste contains tooth-whitening ingredients. However, the whitening agents in toothpaste are usually in small amounts. To truly whiten your teeth, it usually requires much more bleaching power than you’d ever get from a simple tube of toothpaste. If your teeth need very little help, then perhaps toothpaste is enough. Another option is to use the toothpaste in conjunction with another method.2. Whitening Strips. The strips are a popular method that some people try. Hydrogen peroxide or a whitening solution coats each strip. You must follow the treatment for a specific time. Getting yourself this toothbrush need not hurt your pockets because you could pay it in two easy instalments of .95. The 30 Second Smile kit comes with the unit, a designer stand, a travel case, two sets of brushes, and a professional tongue scraper.If you are tired of store bought electric toothbrushes that break down even before you replace the brushes, then you do not have to worry because this is not a 30 Second Smile scam. These brushes effectively hug your teeth while brushing so even the back and all biting surfaces are perfectly cleaned in as little as thirty seconds.The cleaning power of this toothbrush is not the only good thing that this 30 Second Smile review will discuss because there are more reasons to try it out. Getting yourself this toothbrush need not hurt your pockets because you could pay it in two easy instalments of .95. In fact, it comes with an unparalleled three-year warranty. A unit even comes with free brushes for life and the Ultimate 30 Second Smile Whitening System also for free. If you decide to try it and you are unsatisfied with the product because your teeth do not feel cleaner and brighter, you can return the system for a full refund.With all of these that come with the 30 Second Smile toothbrush, this 30 Second Smile review should be more than enough to convince you to try it. It is even perfect for little kids because they have a children’s model. This can be particularly useful for little kids who are not so good at brushing their teeth yet.That means you better take care of them or risk losing them. However, simple isn’t always simple. In other words, just because something is easy to do doesn’t mean you’ll take the time to do it. Take brushing and flossing for example. Thanks to advancements like the 30 Second Smile toothbrush, taking care of your teeth is easier than ever. The toothbrush you use should fit comfortably within your mouth. You need a brush that easily reaches your mouth and gums.For most people this isn’t a problem. If you have arthritis, you might want to consider an electric or battery-operated toothbrush. For example, the 30 Second Smile toothbrush is battery-operated and designed for ease of use. You gently move the brush across your teeth and gums, while the bristles move on their own. This makes it easier for people with arthritis to get a good dental cleaning.If you are able to use a manual toothbrush, then you must know the proper brushing technique. First, you should always take your time when brushing.

    Even if you have 2 min. to brush your teeth with a standard toothbrush your still not getting them clean as they should be. Thats why 30 second smile is the best because it gets your teeth perfectly clean every time.

  12. shellnmize says:

    Wow, this is possibly the first product I have seen for brushing your teeth that isn’t a scam. I just saw this on tv, and in fact if you read this comment soon enough and live in the US. There is a commercial that lasts up to 12 minutes on Channel 61/ Comedy Central. I do not endorse them I am just saying so. But anyways, I came from there and thought… My teeth are rotting out of my head I need a toothbrush. So I used my best friend when it comes to reviews and here I am I am out of characters

  13. shellnmize says:

    @Mishilka Some people have something called a time limit. It’s a hip thing nowadays when you have to go someplace at a certain amount of time and don’t even have 2 minutes to spare.

  14. Onetazien says:

    @alboy3211 Too many uneccessary illogical calculations.

    4 min a day X 365 days = 1460 min in a year (not 2,102,400 min)
    VS
    1 min a day X 365 = 365 min a year (not 525,600 min)

    difference: 1,095 min a year.

  15. alboy3211 says:

    @alboy3211 copy cat

  16. alboy3211 says:

    @Mishilka 2 min x 2 times a day = 4 min a day x 1440 min (24 hours) = 5760 min x 365 = 2102400 min a year vs 30 sec x 2 times a day = 1 min x 1440 min = 1440 x 365 = 525600; 2102400 – 525600 = 1576800 / 1095 / 24 = 45.625 saved days a year using 30 second smile… yeah, sure, 2 minutes doesn’t seem like much time to spare in one day, but 2 times a day for a year, i think 30 second smile is definetley worth it. besides it isnt just abt the time, it about cleaning ur teeth better and easier

  17. alboy3211 says:

    2 min x 2 times a day = 4 min a day x 1440 min (24 hours) = 5760 min x 365 = 2102400 min a year vs 30 sec x 2 times a day = 1 min x 1440 min = 1440 x 365 = 525600; 2102400 – 525600 = 1576800 / 1095 / 24 = 45.625 saved days a year using 30 second smile
